Moore Tails-Rescuing Mutts in the South was written in honor of the dogs and cats that suffered abuse and cruelty under their human owners. This portrait details the true story of dogs and cats being rescued and adopted into loving homes to enjoy a life free from pain. This rare insight into the world of rescue is told by a proactive founder who devoutly believes that a few dedicated women can make the south a better place for all animals.
Jane and I have been friends for the last ten years. We write back and forth, plus she gives me her yearly schedule, allowing me to visit her when she is in the United States. This picture was taken in Fort Pierce, Florida where a brand new Chimp facility was opened. There was more media on site than guests. Jane was interviewed over and over by the television stations and the press. Always gracious and patient she calmly answered each question by the eager reporters.
Jane walked out to an island where the chimps will play. We all followed and she treated us to her famous pant hoots!
When it came time to sit outside at the linen covered tables, the media and guests sat down filling the tables. When I looked around for Jane I saw her plopped down on the cement, holding her plate and chatting with stragglers. Although she is known all over the world there is nothing haughty or prideful about Jane. She is very humble and loves people, especially children. She reminds me often to bring my grandchildren when I visit. Sadly Carole Noonan who started this chimp preserve died recently.
